<image:caption>“I'm Minara. I'm a Rohingya who is originally from Myanmar. I came here in Bangladesh after 25 August 2017, when violence forced us to flee our home. I was sad that we had to leave our home, but what could we do? We could not live. I was 4 months pregnant at that time and walked for 10 days to arrive in Bangladesh. Fortunately, when I got to Kutupalong refugee camp I found WFP’s nutrition support for pregnant mothers – the nutritious cereal helped me to recover from the strenuous journey and bring me back to life. I thank WFP for these additional nutritional supplements which gave me the strength to give birth to a healthy baby boy. My 9-year-old daughter Jasmin also gets micronutrient biscuits at her school that helps her keep her energy levels up throughout the day. I had brought nothing with me from Myanmar – just a few clothes, so I really thank WFP for being there at this time. As a mother caught between two lands, I am relieved to see my babies grow up healthy and strong.”</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jialuo Quzhimu, 78, from the Dragon Hole River Village at Great Stonebridge town in Sichuan Liangshan Yi ethnic minority autonomous region has been totally blind from cataract for almost 3 years. Her family could not afford the cost of treatment or the long rugged journey to get to the nearest hospital. Jialuo could no longer cook, feed her buffalo and pigs or walk around the village, all of the things she used to love to do. She said "I have to depend on my son to go to toilet. That's the worst inconvenience." Jialuo was one of 7 villagers at the Great Stonebridge town who urgently needed cataract surgery, 13 others were diagnosed with cataract after being screened by The Mianing county hospital screening team. This backlog of untreated cataract is due to the lack of local cataract surgeons and the high altitude of the area. The blindness rate in this region is more than twice of the rest of China. When the patch was taken off she was shocked to see the faces of her family that she hadn't seen for years, she couldn't stop laughing and smiling. She said "I could have a buffalo and a pig killed to celebrate this moment if I was at home, and to show my grateful thanks to the doctors and people who save me."

      <image:title>Karina- a WFP Storyteller</image:title>
<image:caption>Meet our next WFP Storyteller- Karina Mamcy! Karina was one of 34 young refugees from South Sudan who took part in a digital storytelling workshop in Bidi Bidi refugee settlement in northern Uganda, facilitated by the World Food Programme. “I want to be a journalist or a leader in South Sudan” she says. Over 10 days Karina learnt how how to take photos, shoot video, how to interview, and how to write a story. And all with a smart phone. “I learnt how to post on Facebook and Instagram. I was not knowing these things”. With her new skills in social media, photography and video, she’s now well on her way.</image:caption>
